Prayer To Get Closer to God

 O merciful Lord, I'm feeling lonely and distant.

I want to get closer to you, but it's hard for me.

Please help me, O Lord.

Let me not be afraid to look inside.

You see and love me, as I am.

I am a child of God.

Give me the confidence that you come for me to heal and set me free.

There is nothing to fear in your merciful love,

Draw me closer, O Lord, in your Word and loving grace.

Let me come to you and rest.

Let me give up all my weariness and shame into the wounds of Christ.

I open myself up to you.

In my weakness you make me strong.

In trusting you, you enter my heart.

And I am never alone.

In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen
